The Open Apparel Registry (OAR) is a free, neutral and open source tool to identify apparel facilities globally. A sophisticated algorithm standardizes data from contributors across the sector to create a common registry of names and addresses, each assigned a unique OAR ID number. It eliminates confusion and facilitates collaboration, whether you’re a brand, a non-profit, trade union or industry initiative. The OAR is written primarily in Python and React, uses a PostgreSQL database, and is hosted in Amazon Web Services. The code is available on GitHub under an MIT license.
