I turned fifty in February and just finished my undergrad degree the first week in May. Before I went back to collage I bought my first Apple product - the iPhone 4, waited for tax free weekend in August, and bought my Macbook Pro. I tell my dad all the time: When I went to Apple Products, all my problems went away. I actually enjoy learning new things to do with them. They make sense. For most everyday uses I can not only figure it out (with the help of Dr. Google of course) but I can often explain it (crudely but with success) to others. That is a long way from my PC days. At Thanksgiving I even upgraded my HDD to SDD and 4x my ram. Then came Shortcuts on my iPhone X. I have tried everything to try to understand how this can improve my phone and give me the tools to create options I thought I could only wish for. But when I poke a round trying to understand, it seems to get more jumbled. As I sought answers I came to Automator and Scripts for MAC. Automator made more sense, I think, because options are displayed better on the larger MAC screen compared to the iPhone. But I still have only created 2 workflows that worked and I could not tell you how I did it. With school done and no job yet, I`M BORED. That means learning Automator and beyond is my new project. I just found this site but at first glance it looks like exactly where I need to start.
