We are all on a ship in the ocean, are we not? The winds blow, the monsoon awaits, and the coming dusk is of the essence. Such are the trials and tribulations of life. Undoubtedly, when the storm appears many withdraw to the gully of the ship. What a terrible fate indeed, to have a ship with no captain. The winds blow, the monsoon declares its authority, and darkness eschews navigation. Watching with anticipation, the reef happily awaits its next victim. Laughing in the face of darkness, the captain guides his ship with wisdom from the constellation. The winds propel forth the ship to its destination. Even the monsoon is no match for the captain’s crew. Will not the days of the wise captain be blessed and merry? Yet, even for the captain, the coming dusk is of the essence. Why did I write this, and what does it mean? I am always open to hearing new ideas and theories. What do others think and why? I already know what I currently think, but would like to know yours. Perhaps my rational is wrong. I am a web developer focusing primarily on the back end python web frameworks. Technologies like Flask and Django. The highly technical and analytical nature of back end programming is something I enjoy. I like to stick with problems until completion. In addition I am currently working with the Python Web Development Techdegree program from teamtreehouse.com The opportunity to help mentor upcoming developers and grade their projects is one I enjoy. What good is knowledge if you don’t share it and expand others capabilities? All this is not to say I don’t like other kinds of challenges. Working with the JavaScript frameworks like React, can be quite fun as well. Learning, whether it be health and nutrition, experimenting with culinary creations, current events, or something interesting can take up my time. Perhaps I just need to take a longer hike. While I do not know where life will take me, I do know that I am the captain of my ship.
