I`m a computer engineer with a strong concern with humanitarian causes. During the last years, I`ve been working close to the third sector, spending some periods in the field. I was working almost one year in Burundi and more than two years in Mozambique. My working experience is nowadays centered in data engineering for the biomedical research area. I`m pretty experienced in rigorous data collection and management for monitoring, evaluation and research. I`ve been working with various types of data sources including clinical data (morbidity surveillance systems and clinical trials); biological data (laboratory information management systems); demographics data (demographic surveillance systems); routine monitoring data (district health information systems); and evaluation data (household surveys). I love to work in multi-cultural contexts. I`m able to communicate in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French. In fact, I have much more experience working with African than European partners. I need to see the results of my day-to-day efforts running in the field. And I really like technology, but for me it is crucial to center this technology in the user and help people to execute processes in a more natural, flexible and human way. Furthermore, I strongly believe in the open source and appropriate technology movements and I do not think that technology is the perfect solution just for being technology.
