On Sunday March 10 2019, Tony Bak from Great Britain left the following message for Sven Wombwell:
"Dear Sven, I have been researching the Wombwell lineage who lived around Southwell Nottinghamshire f,rom the 1700's. I found two brothers who went to London, 1- Thomas joined the Grenadier Guards and then a Keeper at the Tower of London. He had 4 sons who all joined the Grenadier Guards, Albert, Frederick. William and Robert. Albert was awarded the O.B. E after he transferred to the Royal Flying Corps. The brother of Thomas, William was a Vellum Binder and was found on the streets of Pimlico supposedly Drunk, put in jail and found dead the next morning ! The cause of death was eventually found out to be poisoning from the chemicals he used during the vellum binding. I am aware that the family were around the Colchester area and wondered if you may be a descendant? My mother was Jean Wombwell."
Tony Bak left an e-mail address and a telephone number.
