Hi! I`m Joshua! I`m a Junior High School student. In my school, all 10th graders are required to learn Java programming. Programming and IT in general has intrigued me ever since I started using computers at the age of 3. A lot of my life has been centered around a screen - before entering programming, my passion was mainly in the multimedia domain, and I edit videos for the school as well as layout an award-winning school newspaper. Programming class has made be want to take up Computer Science in college. At school, we are taught object-oriented programming in Java using BlueJ. In my spare time, I teach myself how to code in C++ using Eclipse. I was part of a team that entered an information technology quiz bowl, with my specialization being C++ programming, and we won fourth place. I love open-source software, though I don`t feel experienced enough to contribute, and I eventually plan to learn basic Visual BASIC (ha) and Swift by the end of the year. I`m still very much new to programming, however, and my biggest achievement is a basic Java console application text-based adventure with a Pyramid of Doom comprising tens of nested if-else statements (still in the process of moving a lot of the code to other classes so that, in the future, I can update and extend it easier, and I`m also porting it to C++ to learn C++ better).
