I`ve been coding since the days of punch cards and Fortran IV. Introduced microcomputers to Met Life before there was Apple or IBM. Was one of the first employees at Lotus Development, where I managed product migrations and product security. From there I worked at Phoenix Technologies where I managed 386 BIOS development, among other groups. Chief Software Architect and Director of Development at Kurzweil AI, were we did pioneering work on continuous speech recognition tied to expert systems for use in the medical field. Held similar positions at several other companies, doing pioneering work in distributed database systems, CAD for the textile industry, advanced language analysis and concept-oriented search for the publishing industry, object oriented relational document management system, control tower communication and management system for the FAA and a distributed, open architecture PIM system for the automotive industry. Additionally, I`ve held academic positions both teaching CIS and developing a Federally funded curriculum for cooperative computing technologies. Most recently I`ve founded a company with several former students developing a hardened version of Linux that, among other features, leverages custom hardware to help secure the system against persistent threats.
