In 2001, at a time when experts and specialists in the Fisheries Organization of Iran did not have much hope and belief in the flourishing of sturgeon breeding industry in Iran, some investors in Talesh city of Gilan province believed in the growth and development of this industry and with effort Pashtakar succeeded in establishing Morvarid Qarooq Talesh Sturgeon Breeding Cooperative Company as the first official sturgeon breeding company and farm in Iran, and immediately set up a farm and farming facility on the coastal lands of Talesh city. Ghorogh Pearl Farm started its breeding activity by receiving a biennial fish in 2004.
