My name is Rob Sykes and I am a web developer by day, games programming enthusiast by night. I have a massive love for technology and in particular programming. I could program everyday! In fact, I do. I have been around the block for about 5 years now, and have worked for some amazing companies, to name a couple; Edward Robertson, where I currently work now! Abzorb, a telecomms company in Yorkshire. A side effect of the above is that I have worked with some fantastic clients, big names such as Bannatyne and Vodafone, and smaller but no less equally as thrilling, Workwear, Homeware and Andrell Education. A lot of my work has been around building Content Management Systems and E-Commerce websites. However I have had some great experience with developing REST APIs and intergrating with third-party APIs. I did a lot of this with Bannatyne and Abzorb (a telecomms company based in Brighouse, Yorkshire). My interests cover and include programming and computers (web technologies in particular), gaming, maths, doing my utmost best to learn a new language (Croatian), fishing and gardening. My main hobby is building/learning to build middleware for video games, this could be 3D Rendering systems using APIs such as OpenGL and Vulkan, or scripting implementations like Lua. I have a lot of fun working on these things and hope to one day put that practice into effect.
