I have a BA in Mathematics, CT Educator Endorsement #029 (secondary mathematics), and I am currently a CS major at WCSU in Danbury, CT. I am an experienced classroom teacher and STEM educator who is interested in a career change. My goal is to eventually be employed as a software developer. Prior to my teaching career, I was an Applications Technician at a local robotics company which sadly went out of business in 2003. While I didn`t write the actual software routines, my interest in software development began during this time. I verified that the software department was accurately meeting the customer specified protocols for each workstation and fine tuned them in the `Final Setup and Test` dept prior to shipping. We made three axis precision liquid handlers primarily for laboratory research. Our workstations automated numerous routines, such as Protein Crystallography, ELISA, DNA Analyses, SPE, fruit fly feeding, and also interfaced with microplate labelers, barcode readers, plate sealers/washers, vacuum blocks, vortexers, cryogenic storage, autoclaves, etc. I look forward to working closely with software and automation again at some point in the future.
