I am Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford (where I have been a staff member since 1990). I am also Adjunct Professor at the Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen and at the Raman Research institute, Bangalore. My research interests are at the interface between fundamental physics and astrophysics & cosmology - specifically theoretical aspects of dark matter, inflation & the cosmic microwave background, the cosmology of neutrinos & other relic particles, primordial nucleosynthesis, et cetera . I also investigate high energy cosmic rays, neutrinos & gamma-rays, and belong to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and the Cherenkov Telescope Array collaborations. Previously I have worked on the Pierre Auger Observatory & the BEBC Beam Dump experiment at CERN. I now participate in laboratory experiments using high powered lasers to investigate astrophysical processes & fundamental physics.
