Connie, her husband Lum, their sons, Joe and Larry were our neighbors since 1981 when my mother and aunt bought the house behind them. They were good friends and neighbors. I will always remember their kindness from Lum hollering "get in this house", to teach me how to understand the voltage of Christmas lights. I was able to have a conversation once with Joe, before he passed.
Connie's patience in teaching me to bead. The joy of Hazel and the rest beading for Christmas, Easter and Halloween. Larry cooking and calling me to come over for jambalaya, oyster stew, deep fried turkey and all the other goodies. Connie's Christmas divinity. I got to put the almond on top. There will never be friends or neighbors like the Vance's again. The evening I said good bye was a sad time. Blessings and prayers to the Vance Family.
