I hold a Ph.D. in economics with major fields in public economics, econometrics, and finance. I also engaged in a year of post-doctorate study and research at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where my foci were social epidemiology, latent varial modeling, biostatistics, and evaluation. Currently, I am Policy Research Manager in the Center for Insurance Policy & Research at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. I also hold positions as Education Assistant Professor of Population Health at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Economics at the University of Missouri. I have over 20 years of experience as a scholar, policy analyst, and educator. I maintain a significant interest in public economics, regional economics, poverty and welfare, and international development. Formerly I was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, an assistant professor of economics at Georgia State University, a senior associate at the Fiscal Research Center (GSU), and a senior associate at the International Center for Public Policy (GSU). I have consulted extensively with the World Bank and have served on four overseas economic missions to developing countries. In addition to the University of Missouri, I have also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas (Lawrence), Rockhurst University (Missouri), and Baker University (Kansas). I have been using SAS for about 25 years and have significant expertise in R. I am very interested in data science and pursuing additional study in that field.
