Electrically/Electronically, I live off the electrical power grid in Australia, and so have been providing my own power with photovoltaic modules, and am now storing that energy with LiFePO4 batteries. I have made simple battery charge controllers using Op-Amps for the logic, and have attempted to program an Arduino module to make a "smarter" charge controller, but it seems I was not smart enough to achieve that. Actually, I blame the poor teaching methodologies of the people who write the "how-to" books, and/or the editors/publishers, because they appear not to have ever trialed the books on people like myself who have no prior knowledge. They all start out simple enough, and I can get "Hello World" to appear on my computer screen, and LEDs to blink on and off, etc., but then they start adding vocabulary and processes which they don`t explain, so anxious are they to get to the exciting complicated stuff! Or so it seems to me. Anyway, things to do with generating and storing "alternative" energy are of interest to me.
