I`m a language hobbyist. It wasn`t my primary field of study, and it took me a long time to realize I was as interested in it as I am. I speak a little French and a little Spanish. I`m currently learning Esperanto in my spare time. Etymology is my oldest linguistic interest, but what I suppose I would call comparative grammar has become more of my focus these days. ©
