I`ve been in Information Technology for most of my career. Picked up an Associate Degree in Business programming in the 80`s and found out that it wasn`t an in demand skill in the area that I was living at the time. So I had to pick up other skills, such as System Operations, some programming on Intel machines, learning to fix desktop machines, printers, scanners and sometimes copiers. I`ve done help desk type work on proprietary software system that wasn`t coded in any of the current programming languages and was only used for a specific EMR application. Most of the languages I`ve used were wrapped in the systems that employers bought and wanted to use because they were free. So I`ve basically seen many sides the industry.
