Hello, my name is Marcos Iván Miranda GarcÃa, and I’m a computer engineer from Nicaragua currently living in Zaragoza, Spain. I have previously worked for a small architecture business, overseeing by myself the development of an “all-encompassing†business software (address book, finances, tasks, etc.). I have also worked as a teacher assistant in a CS50 spinoff in my country, CS50x.ni. I started learning programming by myself, because I wasn’t satisfied with how little I was learning at university. I learned web development (HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySQL, jQuery) with some classmates and we designed some websites for the university. Then, I taught myself how to make games in libGDX, which also taught me about Gradle. Most recently, I’ve been learning Android app development. I started in Java, but now I’m also comfortable in Kotlin. Currently, I have developed three Android apps. The first one is called “Señas Nicasâ€. It’s an app designed to help people learn and teach about Nicaraguan Sign Language; it was also my dissertation project. The second one is called “PurÃsimaâ€. It’s a simple candy-grabbing game based on the traditional religious festivity known as “La GriterÃa†celebrated on December 7th. The thrid one is called Muestreo y Probabilidades. It`s a statistics calculation and teaching tool I developed alongside my dad to help him with his job as a teacher.
