Every person is multi-dimensional. Experts are simply those which high values along a single axis. Nerds for a long time were considered those who have very high values along one or more axes, but zero or negative values in other axes (i.e. sports, socialability, etc.) What is the well rounded person? Perhaps there is a number of dimensions N for which the value exceeds a threthold value that qualifies someone as well-rounded. Perhaps there is a ratio B = N/D (where d is the total number of nonzero valued dimensions for that person`s personality) that indicates the fraction of dimensions that are useful. Someone with too many unuseful pursuits is perhaps spread too thin? (i.e. filking, cheese-making, and trim painting)
