UK-based DevOps practitioner. I`ve spent fifteen years building platforms out of open source software and setting up teams to run them. I work closely with young companies to ensure their products are scalable and robust, and to eliminate nasty surprises further down the line. Nowadays it`s all about the cloud. I`ve spent the last couple of years working with AWS - now with Docker thrown in - and helping dev & infra teams engineer stacks that`ll run reliably on large estates of throwaway nodes. Some of my fave things are Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Ubuntu, Docker, LXC, AWS, Python (if you can`t dev it isn`t DevOps), monitoring, load testing, ZFS, documentation, Chef, Jenkins, Nginx, Bash, Fish, Raspberry Pi, unit tests, wireshark, firebug, HTTP2 and about a million others that won`t fit in this box. @alexmbird on GitHub.
