Stephen A. Daire is a Master of Science in geographic information science and technology (GIST) – May 2019. He is from New Jersey and is a aerospace small business co-owner Protean Solutions LLC, focusing on planetary sciences and spatial analysis via GIST and robotics in terms of cultural and natural resource survey, remote sensing, modeling, and spatial analysis. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in evolutionary anthropology, a graduate certificate in evolutionary medicine, and a GIST graduate certificate. He is an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor recipient, and a brother of Phi Kappa Tau. His work has focused on evolutionary biology, paleoepidemiology, paleoecology, paleontology, globalization, speleology, and digital cartography. As a full cave-diver and American Academy of Underwater Sciences scientific diver, in completion, he has four years of imaging and optic calibration experiences of 130 hours submerged from 200 dives and experience from National Geographic Expeditions shipwreck and cave-diver mapping. His research aims to elucidate quantum physics, quantum biology, quantum Darwinism, bioastronautics, and GIST topics within human evolutionary studies via planetary science analogs as a scientific-diver and scientist-astronaut applicant in underwater cave and high-altitude environments. Stephen’s recent focus is on virtual reality and holographic geovisualization for use in research on spatial cognition in cave diving accidents, as well as autonomous robotics systems for mapping, particularly in planetary science analog submerged subterranean environments. Stephen will be conducting underwater laser scanning and astronautics field training for September and October of 2018.
