My name is Mario Ciambelli and I was born in Lucca (Italy) on March 11th, 1987. I attended high school at “Istituto Tecnico Industriale E. Fermiâ€, specializing in computer science. Subsequently, I attended University at “Libera Accademia delle Belle Arti†of Florence, where I studied graphic design and graduated in June 2012 with a score of 107/110. During my bachelor I studied a wide range of subjects such as animation 2D, animation 3D, web design, logo design, multimedia sciences, history of art and more. The topic of my thesis was tangible user interfaces, and in collaboration with a computer programmer, I developed an iPhone/iPad application that aims to help autistic children recognize emotions. In September 2012 I moved to Utrecht to increase my working experience. During my stay in The Netherlands I have worked as an intern in two very different graphic design studios. I first did a three-month internship in “Studio van Laar†in Eindhoven, where I developed my skills in the design and construction of animations. During these months I rediscovered my interest in animations, and learned how to use After Effects. This internship has given me all the necessary tools to create better and more elaborate animations. In February 2013 I did a three-month internship at “Mijksenaarâ€, in Amsterdam. Mijksenaar is one of the most important studios of way-finding in the world, and has worked for important clients such as Schiphol Airport, VU University Amsterdam and JFK Airport. I applied at Mijksenaar in order to increase my experience in different environments and sectors of graphic design.
