My professional and educational background includes working in psychology, special education, animal rights, and immigration law. I love implementing technology that provides a service or a product that improves people’s lives. When I first published and maintained web content using WordPress for a nonprofit that delivered a clear and articulate message on animal rights, I felt that spark. When I later managed web content for an immigration law firm using WordPress that highlighted the hard work of our attorneys and other legal professionals, I felt it again. Since then, I knew I couldn’t ignore it any longer. I had to immerse myself in this new career path and explore the depths of software engineering. With a growth mindset and a self-taught orientation, I sought out tech mentors and made use of online resources early on to reinforce my learning. Through the program at Actualize Coding Bootcamp, I fostered a full-stack approach to software engineering and my learning quickly became more purposeful.
