I started building web sites 19 years ago and have 12 years of professional experience in many areas of data, development, and business intelligence. My customized solutions are currently in use at Fortune 100 and 500 companies and now linked to over $100 million in annual savings. I unearth, scrape, parse, aggregate, organize, and analyze data from various sources (retiring stores, SQL, API endpoints, Web sites, RSS feeds, text, pdf, JSON, XML). I create meaningful reports that highlight key performance, utilization, and savings indicators. I write and implement automation scripts to replace tedious manual tasks (often processes considered impossible to automate), reducing cost and time requirements drastically and perpetually. I structure, load test, and tune databases (SQL, MySQL, Oracle, Postgre) to store data securely and optimally, resulting in minimal overhead and quick query speeds for direct access, APIs, business objects, warehousing, in-house software and application backend, and seamless integration with popular software (Tableau, Salesforce, JIRA). I spin up custom server space to host data stores and applications. My personal preference is the LAMP stack (Redhat or Ubuntu). I have experience with physical rack servers as well as cloud providers (AWS, Digital Ocean, Vultr, Bluehost) and Docker containers. I install and update packages from repositories and from source. I design and develop web-based applications and tools to improve efficiency in data availability, communication, project tracking, and scheduling. I take pride in creating one-off, top-shelf applications that are simultaneously beautiful visually, simple, intuitive, and perform every bit as well as they look. I love seeing and understanding the big picture so I can offer ideas for new functionality, but also greatly enjoy the challenge of devising features that others have written off as impossible.
