I am a senior software architect with 25+ years of experience across a wide range of application platforms. Throughout my career, I have sought opportunities to learn and leverage new technologies in roles where my work will have a positive impact. In my current role in the Fellowships Office at the National Academy of Sciences, I have successfully created a paperless office for research grant application submission, review, tenure management, and sponsor reporting. Our system is entirely Web-based, and enables our internal staff, with the help of research scientists and sponsors across the country, to process 3000+ applications per year. My responsibilities include architecture, UX/UI design, technical personnel management, and hands-on development. Throughout my career I have leveraged my expertise across a broad range of development platforms and business domains. This experience includes these current and past projects: Architecting a Web-based full-text edit and search engine for digitized music encyclopedias and journal (MarkLogic, Node) Developing Web-based applications on a variety of platforms (Java EE/JSP, ASP.NET) Creating desktop/shrink-wrapped software for Macintosh and Windows targeting Architects, Engineers, and Contractors (C++, cross-platform code-base) Creating and producing technical training materials, and leading classes for developers and users on Web stack development in these technologies
