I was really good at math back in the day. It happened real quick too. I was a mediocre math student and spent a summer reading math books. I did so well on the Dominican Math Olympics I was one of two people chosen to represent my country in the Ibero-American Math Olympics (one step away from the prestigious IMO). However, I quit math. Wanted to be a Paris-styled psychoanalyst. Majored in clinical psychology. Got the degree, but both the big-shot Freudians and the big-shot Anti-Freudians thought I was too crazy to be a psychoanalyst... Legally crazy. Broke my heart, drifted aimlessly for several years. And now I go back to math. I was accepted into an applied math master`s program (quite a feat considering I didn`t have professional math experience), but I like my math pure, without orange juice. I also take literature pretty seriously.
