My name is Aram Wahler and I live in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin with my spouse Trisha and my step-son Caleb. Currently, I’m a graduate student at University Wisconsin – Stout studying for an M.F.A. in Design. My focus is on Games Research and User Experience (GRUX), specifically games UX design. I`m also a Research Assistant for UW – Stout Game Design and Development faculty and engage in some freelance work on the side. When not pursuing academic and professional goals, I enjoy playing all manner of games with friends and family. Caleb and I also like creating structures with wooden blocks, Lego, and K`Nex. My remaining free time is filled with sound design, playing bass, and occasionally, sequential art and analog sculpture. I consider myself a lifelong student of games and the people who play them. My professional goal is to practice and teach thoughtful, player-focused game design principles and methods. Game design should equip players to realize their motives. Whether for entertainment, education, or some other application, player needs should shape game design and development.
