33 years ago I and my partner started DTR International on a DEC VAX/VMS using VAX Basic. Sold out 21 years later. I am getting tired of being retired, so I am catching up on the new-to-me stuff. My partner has kept up with some of the times and has recommended VB.NET as the way to go. So here I am at 70 acting like a school kid again. I want to start a small project using a database and charting. The question would be, since I am already committed to VB, should I also commit to MS Access for the database? It will be sufficient for my cause unless anybody can point out that it may not be. If I do use Access, should I use VB or Access for the data entry form and reports? I understand the the .NET CLR is deeply entrenched in nearly every MS application but the question still remains as to which application to use? Perhaps Access with VBA? I have never tried anything where the programming language is part of the database. I have always used the language to drive the database. Not confusing, I just do not have enough info to know the correct answer for my needs. I`m glad I found this board, and will be looking for other answers as well.
