Thiago Diogo is a Full Stack Research Software Engineer at CUSP (www.cusp.nyu.edu), with a focus on big data, data science, and agile software development. He received his B.S. in Computer Science (2009) and M.S. in Business Management (2016) at UFF, Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Thiago has more than 12 years of experience in software development, working mainly with enterprise architecture, IT management & agile software development. In the last 3 years, Thiago was dedicated to specializing himself in cybersecurity challenges and blockchain technologies applied to many business areas. For 6 years, Thiago led the Observatory Santander UFF, a R+D laboratory focused on Smart Cards and Mobile technologies that developed a smart cards platform for the UFF’s community, with more than 55.000 cards in use becoming a global case of Santander Bank. For 10 years, Thiago managed the IT Department of UFF using COBIT, ITIL, SCRUM and PMBOK as foundations to lead the development of more than 40 web-based solutions together with more than 150 developers using modern solutions like Ruby on Rails, Java EE & Mobile Apps (iOS & Android). Besides working with Software Development and IT Management in UFF, he founded two startups in Brazil becoming an entrepreneur in cybersecurity (focus on data leakage) and mobile apps areas. During this period, he became an enthusiast of recurrent revenue business models based on Cloud Computing and Big data technologies.
