Wow, where to start ? Way back in late 1983 I was introduced to an Adam computer and learned most of the programming in one day. From there I purchased a Vic 20 and spent a couple years learning all I could about computers. My first real desktop came in 1989. It was an IBM 8088 which I used to learn assembly, gwBasic, and did extensive work with dBase IV. Over the years I have picked up Visual Basic (starting with version 4), VBA, C, C#, and a large assortment of other proprietary other languages. I`ve written one small (ok, tiny) application in C++ as a driver for an I/O board . Did not like it, no interest in ever going back if I don`t have to. I`ve completed projects using HTML, XML, and PHP. Over the years I`ve picked up my Machine Controls Electricians license, and worked my way up to being the Senior Controls Engineer at a local robotics and automation company. I`m currently working on an application that is required to operate on Linux using OpenCV. Needless to say, I am now learning Python. It has been a bit of a paradigm shift from my usual current norm (Windows, C#), but with the help of those here at StackOverflow.com, I am progressing nicely.
