I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Baker University. I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Kansas in May 2022. I am interested in commutative algebra and its connections to additive number theory and combinatorics. I enjoy thinking about the stratification of non-Gorenstein Cohen-Macaulay local rings -- especially in dimension one -- such as numerical semigroup rings. Outside of academia, I enjoy music composition, music criticism, exercise, and outlandish humor. I am a trained jazz drummer and freelance multi-instrumentalist. Over the last decade, I have recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered many records -- both as a solo artist and in collaboration with others. Listen to some of those below. is my favorite musician. "Patience. Belief. Love. We are brothers Zach and Dylan Beck. Heidi Klum`s Bangs began as a bedroom psych folk project in early 2009 and soon evolved into a full-on, multi-instrumental indie rock act in the vein of Neutral Milk Hotel, Circulatory System, Beirut, and Sufjan Stevens. With our ethereal instrumentals and stream-of-consciousness lyrics, we create a musical universe unlike any." Listen to Heidi Klum`s Bangs on or . "If you`re more or less wanting to get into some real specific patterns and different things -- some wind-swept looks and different stuff like that -- you need look no further whatsoever. A Real Echoey Approach is yet another project from the fertile mind of Dylan Beck (Heidi Klum`s Bangs, Carlo dell`Aquila, SpellChek), whose aim is to conjure inexplicable beauty in fragments of noise." Uniting once again, Dylan Beck and Danilo Uomo are Carlo dell`Aquila. Conceived originally as a spiritual successor to late-era Talk Talk, Carlo dell`Aquila combines the haunting lyricism of Sufjan Stevens with the swirling dream pop of the Antlers; the result is a sound that demands to be heard."
