I´m from 1974, hold a degree in Statistics by the Portucalense University Infante D. Henrique (1998), and a postgraduate degree in Data Analysis and Decision-making Support Systems (2004) by University of the Oporto, College of Economy of the Oporto. Since 2019 I`m Deputy Director of Data Collection and Management Department of Statistics Portugal, and Statistics Portugal responsible for Census2021 Data Collection and I`m now coordinating a Statistics Portugal Data Science Team. From 2010 to 2019, Almiro was the Director of the Business Surveys Unit of Statistics Portugal – being responsible for this Data collection division, that is, overseeing the data collection, analysis of micro data, creation and development of webforms and backoffice assistance to business surveys. Previously (2009), I have been seconded to the Directorate-General for Statistics of the European Central Bank in the development and coordination of SAFE (Survey on the access to finance of small and medium –sized enterprises) and HFCS (Household Finance and Consumption Survey). My recent work is focused on Data Collection Modernization, Feedback to the respondents, Data Science and the use of Administrative Data for Statistical Purposes
