Started with Cobol in `89, then Linc, Oracle Forms/Reports, a Pro-C contract cos I could spell SQL (curly bracket, punctuation, gibberish, exec-sql WOOHOO!!! end-exec... curly... zero `c` knowledge lol). Then JADE (from fellow kiwis and the makers of LINC) which was the best thing ever imo - just type `.persist` and any object can be saved to the db, forget about creating tables, it`s an OO db, good times - then Java from 2000, some C# and VB.net, mostly Java/Spring Boot/Batch/Blah with a Gupta app on the side for a decade. And now I`ve peaked. Three decades of progressing and upskilling has rewarded me with proudly supporting a 20th century Swing EJB JBoss app that`s been ported into AWS. This thing is monstrous, clinically insane, and I suspect it wants me dead.
