I`m a network security engineer. I`m learning C# just as a hobby and maybe to do things in my other hobby - ham radio. I have an SDR radio (Flex 6500) and thinking I`d like to play with the API and maybe make my own client or utilities. It`s all just an excuse to learn. I`m finding learning C# difficult. I have all the basic stuff like structure, looping, classes (somewhat) but I run into problems in two areas: 1) understanding some of what seems to be esoteric such as contravariance/covariance and many many other things 2) my imagination... i can`t seem to get a clear handle on how to get things done, especially starting from scratch For #1, I`m trying to read articles and blogs to get perspectives different from the book. For #2, I haven`t come up with a solution yet. I`m thinking hallucinogenics probably isn`t the best approach so I`m still trying to find a way to see the forest through the trees. If I ask a question that seems silly I probably over-thought it or just to frustrated to see the obvious. Beginning an answer with a DUH! i totally understandable. Advice is always welcome.
