I started my career in IT a few months ago as a systems engineer. I went to community college for computer networking and still haven`t finished my associates degree but I only have a few more classes to go and I will graduate. I had a misconception that in order to get into software engineering, you needed to have a bachelors degree in computer science. I started watching some videos on youtube and realized there are a ton of self-taught developers out there. So I started taking some classes on FreeCodeCamp and am going to see if I can transition into programming sometime in the future. In the meantime, I am managing Windows and Linux servers at my current job and will continue to advance in IT even if I don`t go the software engineering route. ©
