Burnt-out custom database software expert taking time to recover from 20 years of really high-stress consulting at big corporations and even tiny firms. Missed out on all the possible big-time dot-com and phone app success stories while I slaved away at so many companies all over Southern California helping others make more money. While I mull over possible career changes, I am giving programming one last try by training in new skills. When I am not doing that I am fighting years of closet clutter, DIY condo projects, volunteering at my parish, and riding road bikes for fun while Strava makes me look really slow compared to others. Sometimes I travel for fun or on religious pilgrimages and retreats. I confess that much of the above is sarcasm. ©
