Luciano Soares has been working in the computer graphics and virtual reality field, developing computer systems and managing virtual reality facilities. Although the most recent projects were developed in clusters of commodity computers he also has expertise in different computer architectures, like Silicon Graphics, Cray, SUN Enterprise, and recently in high density SMP(Symmetric Multiprocessing) PCs. Software development is usually programed in C++ and Java, with the support of OpenGL, Posix Threads, MPI, X3D(VRML) and XML libraries, among others. Luciano also has knowledge in projection technologies, especially in immersive multi-projection stereoscopic solutions added by tracking devices. Finally, he has a broad knowledge of the Maya 3D tool and scientific visualization techniques.
