I began my journey into tertiary education as an undergraduate at IUPUI, studying applied mathematics as a focus and dabbling in programming and pure mathematics as a hobby. After receiving my Bachelors of Science in Applied Mathematics in 2015, I moved into Geographic Information Science (GIS) in 2017 with the intention of receiving my Masters of Science in that field. I began to study the R programming language as part of my research assistantship in late 2017; that next semester, I refined my ability and understanding of the Python programming language. Ever since fall of 2018, I have been helping my research professor, Dr. Rudy Banerjee, in providing statistical modeling assistance to various PhD students using the R package `INLA` as part of their PhD dissertation work. To further this pursuit, I have been taking graduate probability and statistics courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at IUPUI; these courses have been invaluable to me in developing a deeper understanding of the statistical methodologies employed in modeling.
