I am enthusiastic about using statistics to understand situations and drive decision making. I use code to analyze data, create visualizations, and automate processes. I use R a lot because it is flexible and powerful and I am comfortable with it. However, in general I choose tools based on their appropriateness to the long term goals of the project at hand; in particular, I always consider whether the solutions I develop will continue to work if they need to run on a different platform, be maintained by a different person, or handle tasks that are orders of magnitude larger. ©
