I taught myself programming when my wife told me we were going to have our first child. It was at that moment when I realized that I needed to make a change into a career to support my growing family. I did not become a programmer. Instead, it taught me how to think like a programmer - make logical decisions, and appreciate how difficult can you move this button over there can be. Now and then I like to pick up a hip new language to stay fresh and sound smart in client meetings.
