I`ve spent 9 years working in MercadoLibre, the largest e-commerce site in Latin America (2.5 transactions per second and more than 100 million active users), with a lot of different technologies, but mainly with Java and Oracle the first 3 years, and the last ones with Groovy, Grails, Oracle, MySql, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcached, Hadoop and some more technologies. Over the last two/three years there my principal task has been to migrate and maintain a core process from a monolithic architecture to a micro-services oriented one. Working with and implementing REST APIs, hosted in the cloud, using queues for async processing, monitoring everything with NewRelic and Datadog. I led this process with a team of 6 developers, 2 of them in Buenos Aires and the rest in Cordoba. In the last 3 years, I have been working at Booking.com, leading multicultural teams of about 6 people, working closely with the Product Owner to understand the needs and prioritize them. Making sure that my team members have everything that they need to do their job the best possible way, managing (under)performance, growing people and some more tasks. My focus has always been to have an agile, performance and scalable application, and with the best possible user experience. I am always interested in learning new stuff and applying them to my work. I am also interested to apply my knowledge to improve business metrics and obtain the greatest possible profit.
