I`m a big fan of linguistics, language learning, the philosophical underpinnings of the aforementioned, and my own opinions! Speaking of my opinions, here are some for you to sample: The word Celtic has two Cs, and neither of them should sound like an S. The difference between prescriptive grammatical rules and descriptive grammatical rules is a distinction without a difference. There are obvious benefits to writing as closely as possible to how one speaks, and there are obvious problems with endeavouring to make writing mirror speech. Proponents of spelling reform tend to exaggerate the former and totally ignore the latter.
