I started about 10 years ago as a trainee developer. This position was pivotal in directing my career into a pure Java route. This acted as a doorway to the Java and Computer engineering world. I find myself upskilling into various industries and Meeting the right people. My journey as a developer embarked many challenges around cape town and in other cities. My first huge challenge was to build a photo management system for the SA Navy at a company called Sita. As a experienced junior, for the first time, I had to implement user requirements I never had the skills for and was given a dead line with specific requirements. My approach to this was a huge stepping stone for the the future to come and a template for how I accomplish things. I implemented a prototype, encapsulating a specific technology framework. At that time it was Struts, Jsp, Oracle and Java. I then used all this functionality to architect and deliver the photo management system which was used at all Navy bases around the whole of South Africa. I`ve got solid back-end development experience, and I`ve shipped fairly complex features end-to-end. However, my skill set evolved into many spheres of technology and industries. Another highlight of my career was the first time I had a Lead Role as a Java developer/architect. I built a voucher redeem system for Telkom SA, which millions of South Africans utilize up to this day. At that time all telecommunication companies were rolling out a free internet/wifi initiative to all south africans and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to engineer a system like this. It provided services to people in various parts of the country. The project was a real success and my reputation as a senior really guided me to where I am today. Someone who delivers a programming skill with full integrity, optimally and accurately. I believe that technology is a tool that would extend me into various avenues and environments, to create and administrate a better world of service delivery for clients, users and businesses. ##How I keep my skills sharp My core skill sharpener is the internet and tech sites, where most of my improvements came from digital tech books and online courses. Through the years knowledge sharing and `on the job training` acted as a major influence in my career. This wasn`t enough, I was pulled into tutorial implementation and book reference development on many occasions. I`ve always used Java as a base and use various other technologies such as Spring, Spring Security, hibernate, Sql and even front end tools like Bootstrap and Jquery. In general with my experience, I`ve acquired a rare skill to architect any technology of any sort, in any industry as my skill extended beyond the book. With this I found myself having my own development business , developing various applications and websites .
